363 nights to go – Awoke @0600 and took Liam to shore. No fog, so easy to find the boat ramp. Liam decided to go for another swim. Guess he’s adapting to cruising life. Anchor aweigh at 0800. Albermarle Sound was like glass. Easy crossing. Arrived at Coinjock at 1230. https://coinjockmarina.com/
Fueled 146 gallons, 49 stbd, 75 port. No wonder we had a bit of a list to stbd. That’s all for now. More after Prime Rib dinner.
Dan, Bill, and Joel enjoyed the 16 oz prime rib at Coinjock’s Restaurant. Joan had mini crab cakes and a wedge salad. They gave us complimentary homemade potato chips with buttermilk ranch sauce — they were delicious. Dan also drank two Danhattans! After that, we tried to watch Game 7 of the Bruins vs. Toronto first-round playoffs, but I fell asleep even though some terrific hockey was being played (great goaltending). Thankfully, we came out victorious thanks to a nasty goal by #88! Good thing, because I brought my Bruins banner to fly off the boat.
Coinjock Marina was pretty cool. The deckhands made docking easy and low stress! They had rolling gas and pump-out services that they could transport directly to your boat. The ship’s store had all the basics, the bathrooms were clean, and the restaurant was yummy. Nightly rate was $110 per night, but the diesel was $3.80 per gallon. Liam was left alone on the boat while we went to dinner, and we had no complaints, so evidently he didn’t freak out and make a commotion. We met a bunch of people, but I forget their names.
