So, we got up early and it was quite cold and foggy. I cleaned up and then we bundled up to take Liam for a walk. I got rid of a bunch of trash. It was so cold that we had to use the gloves that we had for locking that we never use. Thankfully, I brought along some warm clothes, but my footwear choices were sketchy—two pairs of Crocs, a pair of sneakers, and cowboy dance boots. We all eventually departed around 7:30 AM despite the cold and fog. At first, you couldn’t see anything, but the sun was out and it eventually burned off the fog. So, Back Forty, Cool Beans, Finito, Wooden Boat, Sacagawea, Soul Shine, River Rat, Blue Tortuga, and Loop Dawg all headed for the Pickwick Lock. Someone called the lock in the morning to let them know that a bunch of us were coming, and the lockmaster said that 1:30 PM would work well. During the trip, I was bundled up inside while Dan and Liam were up on the bridge. We passed RingUL8R on the way! We arrived at the lock, and it pretty much opened the doors right away. We all tied up but ended up waiting 1.5 hours before the doors closed—we were waiting for slower boats to catch up. We were wary of having to wait another 1.5 hours waiting for RingUL8R, but the doors closed and we locked through. Originally, we were going to anchor but it was already cold and forecast to drop into the 30s, so we decided to see if there was space at Pickwick Landing State Park Marina. There was room there, so we docked along with Soul Shine and Back Forty. We all ended up taking a van to the restaurant in the lodge for dinner—it was fun.
