Yesterday Dan got together with two other boats—Just Relax and Proost – To organize getting through the locks this afternoon, Dan is the leader – elected by April, on Ti Amo!
Dan called the lock at 6:15 AM to see if he could find out anything. The lock said to call back closer to our departure. Dan went to his briefings, and I got the boat organized, got rid of trash, took a shower, and went to the marina store to buy TP. I went to meet Dan for lunch at 12:00, but the sessions were running late, so I bailed and went back to the boat. Dan arrived shortly after, having also bailed on lunch. We took Liam for a walk and then departed Joe Wheeler to head to the lock. In the first lock, everyone had their own pin, and everything went smoothly. As we approached the Wilson Lock, Dan contacted the lock and they said the wait would be 1-4 hours. Once we got close, we hovered for about 15 minutes and the lock master reported that he could fit us in with a tug, but that we would have to raft up all three boats together. We made it through with no problem and headed to Florence. We arrived at Florence Harbor Marina and squeezed into dock with the help of Kyle, the infamous dock master. Dan took Liam for a walk while I got the boat in order. I fed Liam, then we took him for a walk. Dan got a text from our flotilla asking if we wanted to meet at the River Bottom Grill. We said yes! We had dinner and some great conversation/company. However, I am going to get my hearing checked since I could barely hear anything without concentrating. We were very tired out for some reason.
