We departed Isle of Hope Marina with help from Goldilocks and dock staff —it was windy and there was substantial current, so we appreciated the assist. The ride was frothy at times, mostly due to the wind, which was not predicted in any of Dan’s apps. We crossed the Savannah River into South Carolina. Shortly after entering SC, I noticed a boat speeding along with cargo on the bow—initially thought that it was laden with crab pots, but it was hay bales?! We docked in gusty winds in Safe Harbor Skull Creek on the tee dock with help from dock staff and fellow loopers (“Our Song”). Bad weather was expected, so I closed everything up. We had Bubba burgers, slaw, and potato salad for dinner. It did rain, but not as much as expected, though there was plenty of thunder and lightning! We watched Airplane Disasters.
