Eight boats departed KFB at 5:14 AM led by Freedom—a 97 ft luxury yacht. When we got to the Demopolis Lock, there were already two boats in the chamber. We went to the starboard wall to grab a pin, but there wasn’t one there! Dan had to do some maneuvering to get us over to the port wall. I secured my pin and Back Forty rafted to us. We originally intended to get to the Edna Bend anchorage, but it was too deep. We carried on for another 17 miles to Bashi Creek and anchored in there N31°57.30′ W088°04.25′ with Back Forty. The other boats anchored in the river. It was a long day, but since we got such an early start, it was much earlier in the day. Dan took Liam to shore right away since he did not poop this morning.
There was a dinghy dock that led to a boat ramp which led to a park. The day started out overcast, but the sun came out in the afternoon. Dan brought Liam back to the boat with orange feet due to the orange Alabama dirt. Dan then went for power walk while I made a potato, carrot, and onion dish to go with roast grilled pork loin.
