Tenn-Tom Waterway: Marvin, AL to Jackson, AL – St Elmos Anchorage

2025-11-06

We didn’t rush off in the morning since we planned on getting to Bobby’s Fish Camp, which was about two hours away. Dan took Liam for a walk while I cleaned up. Then we both took him for a walk because he insisted! The weather was overcast and muggy. We hauled anchor just before 9:00 AM. On the way to Bobby’s, everyone else decided to press on through the last lock of the trip. We went too, since the hurricane Rafael continues to move west. So, we completed 151 locks. We ended up at St Elmos Anchorage N31°32.45′ W087°59.05′ because the anchorage that we had intended to go to was silted in. The anchorage was just basically the river outside of the channel. There was a beach there to walk Liam. Dan took Liam to shore while I got things organized. Dan dropped Liam at the boat, then took the dinghy to ferry Mike on Back Forty and his two dogs to shore, so he would not have to inflate his dinghy. They took the dinghy and went to chat with the other boats. We had leftover shrimp Parma Rosa. It was humid and buggy, so Dan ran the generator for AC. We watched The Voice.

Chart plot of today’s cruise.

177 nights to go
