76° (real feel 83°), fluffy clouds, light breeze. Left Marsh Harbor 10:15, headed to Lynyard Cay. Along the way we passed Apres Sail, a sister ship we originally met back on June 13, 2024 at Rouse’s Point, Lake Champlain. We arrived at Lynyard Cay at approximately 1:00. Anchored at N26°22.15′ W076°59.18′ and had lunch. Took the dinghy to Sandy Cay to snorkel—Steve and Mindy experienced the new dinghy loading protocol. LOVE IT!
We picked up the mooring ball at Sandt Cay without incident. Water was a tiny bit chilly at first, but we quickly got used to it. Right off the bat, we saw a reef shark, then lots of fabulous fish in the coral reef, as well as coral and aquatic fauna as well as some sea turtles.
Morning infractions include:
Steve left the beers in the freezer for too long (10 push-ups or 3 single-arm)
Mindy did not wait for the click on the downstairs freezer (see above)
Bathroom light left on by Dan or Steve (nobody is admitting to it)
Back to snorkeling—we were alone for about 30 minutes, then were joined by a group on a big Tiara. We counted 9 kids and a separate couple with a Yorkie. Got a lead on Pete’s Pub but too far. Dan says, “Next year.” Enjoyed some beverages waiting for sunset.
Afternoon infractions:
Steve cut limes using a paper towel for a cutting board
Steve left the bathroom light on again.
Oh wait! When we were getting ready to go in the water, Mindy confessed she was worried about getting back in the dinghy, but Dan explained the rope system. Needless to say, it took both Dan and Steve to get pencil arms in the dinghy. Back on-board Loop Dawg, we had sunset cocktails and leftover pizza for appetizers. Dinner was a group effort, and we enjoyed Maura’s (Ina Garten’s) grilled shrimp, Basmati rice and broccoli. Steve stubbed his pinky toe. Lights out at 10:30.
