We got up early to make the bridge. The anchor was extremely muddy.
On Sundays, the bridge was supposed to open on demand up until 8:00 AM but the bridge tender said he was opening at 8:00 AM only. Of all the bridge tenders we’ve encountered over the last year (and there have been hundreds), this one, by far, was the most cantankerous! As a result, we all had to wait for 35 minutes! It was a nice day, sunny but cool. We made it through the bridge then headed to Swansboro. We were going to anchor, but Dan called and said there was room for us at the Swansboro Town Dock so I raced around dropping fenders and we docked with help from George and Christine from Resonance who we last saw in Paducah, KY. we chatted for a while before Christine went to get some stocky rolls. We got settled then Dan worked while I watched Dateline and Snapped. I washed the windows since they were so dirty that I could barely see through them. We went to the Saltwater Grill for dinner then watched American Idol.
