As we headed out of Fox Town harbor with Little Abaco to our starboard side, the port engine overheated and set off an alarm. Dan promptly shut the engine down. The seas were fairly calm, so Dan decided to continue the trip to Green Turtle Cay on one engine. Arrangements were made with Donny’s Marina for a slip for 2 nights. With Little Abaco to one side we could see many more Cays to our port side during the trip. Dan expertly maneuvered Loop Dawg into the slip even though he didn’t have the control that the two engines provide. Donny and his crew were dockside helping every inch of the way in. Since the engine room was too hot to begin diagnosis, we walked into town for some bar hopping. First stop was Miss Emily’s Blue Bee Bar for a Goombay Smash. Supposedly, the Goombay Smash was first served at this bar. We chatted with a couple from Atlanta who gave us an extra Goombay Smash. Continuing our walk through town, we headed to Sundowners for our next drink and to watch the sunset. Guess who was there, the couple from Atlanta. This time Dave got an earful. The woman, once away from her husband, was asking Dave for all sorts of advice about divorce. He did his best to be a divorce counselor but was relieved when we walked back to him and the conversation ended. Back at the boat we cooked up some Bubba burgers.
